This edition of RANDi (Research & Inspiration) for Graphic Designers & Web Designers covers a selection of fantastic Stain glass and scenerybased logo designs from a wide range of logo and identity designers.
You may be asking, “What is a stain glass or scenic logo design?”
A stain glass logo or scenic logo is one which kind of goes against the formidable rules of logo design.
Rather than creating a straight up icon or object using one or two shapes and a limited selection of colours, stain glass logo designs can use a multitude of shapes and colour if necessary to create a picturesque landscape painting as a logo.
These unique and quite rare logo designs tend to use a style that resembles traditional pen or paintbrush strokes and effects to end with an image that quite often resembles a stained glass window or a painted picture.
On one hand they can be hard to reproduce in print or screen due the complexity of design, raising the question, “Are they actually suitable as a versatile logo design solution?
On the other hand they are works of art!
Superbly designed, pretty, mini pictures encapsulated into a symbolic form.
They’re at the very least memorable pieces of design communication which makes an impact on viewers.
That’s what makes them logo designs that work.
Check out this great selection of stain glass logo designs and traditional stroked logo designs.
